Alchemy+MP Absorb

It works!?

And it applies pre-mitigation?!

So 16% incoming damage gets removed, I then restore 16% of the pre mitigation damage but also get 25% extra from harmony

After this healing based on their damage, my DR then applies afterwards actually making me immortal…

Why do you guys work so hard to keep this a secret…??:face_with_raised_eyebrow::thinking:

here is the Patch Notes that shows MP Absorb doesn’t work with Alchemy.

and the Patch Notes that shows MP Absorb doesn’t work with BloodMagic.

The Secret has been revealed!

So what I’m hearing is the patch notes are as accurate as some codex entries… somehow…

I understand part of the game is to keep your build to yourself, the eternal league literally stops us spying on other builds to copy them

But, regardless of what the patch notes says, it does work and we shouldn’t be telling people it doesn’t work, if we know it does :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Knowingly doing that is called gatekeeping, and it’s funny to think of people doing that with medicine or something, ya know…

I’ll keep testing, I plan to share more of my findings/calculations to help others :+1:

I’ve never used MP Absorb with Alchemy in PVP, but I know that when Patch 3.1.1 came out, a lot of players were a little upset about having to fix their builds to work. which is why I say it they don’t work together. one of the Mods who had a powerful MP Absorb & Alchemy build and shared it, placed a notice at the end of the thread that the build doesn’t work anymore because of the MP Absorb not working with Alchemy.

if it’s working for you, then it’s up to the Dev’s to either fix it to be in compliance with the Patch or let us know that they changed their minds and have decided that MP Reduce & Alchemy is a balanced combination again.

the Patch Notes are accurate compared to the Codex, unless there is a bug that needs to be fixed, from what I understand from previous posts & Patch updates.

this is true, but I’m not one of the players who doesn’t share. if someone makes a PVP build that breaks mine, I just make a new one that breaks the one they’re using, and on and on and on it goes.

keep up the great work with testing and expanding our knowledge of DQ!

Sorry I did not mean this personally to you, as well as you and others in the forum giving me the trail to follow and discover it for myself which I do appreciate

I literally threw on a few 10 dust pieces to test it on floor 101, I could easily see the difference with/without MP Absorb

Maybe a later patch reverted the changes it had gotten in the first place, I don’t know why it’s like this now - but I noticed lots of people in arena have it :yum:

from what I understand, MP Absorb with BloodMagic & Alchemy was OP x OP. the thing that made them OP was that MP Absorb was giving BloodMagic & Alchemy unlimited MP that is being used as Health, so if just one character had this, they usually won, and if both have this build, you went into extra rounds until one character could one shot the other or the attacker surrendered out of boredom.

I didn’t take it too personally, it was more about the Dev’s. yeah, even I go crazy with how much work the Codex needs to be up to date, and that’s even with all the work they did on updating the Codex back around 2020ish.

and when you consider that some stuff in the Codex is different than descriptions on the Items, lot’s of confusion.

if DQ could last another 10 to 15 years, another go at fixing up the Codex should be done, if possible.

well, it could be possible, even I’ve made advice mistakes a bunch of times. and there are even Patches where I had to change my advice from what I said before to something different after.

If MP Reduce is working with Alchemy, go for it and ignore me. bottom line is we all have fun with DQ.
