First and foremost, I am NOT blaming Dungeon Quest for this. I’m simply both trying to gather information (to provide to Shinybox if needed) and to try to enhance my gaming experience as a whole on Fire TV. I suspect the issue is with Fire TV and Fire OS, but it is what I have to work with, so making DQ run best on this platform is my purpose.
Okay, I’m a windows guy, so Linux is mostly foreign to me. I know a little bit, so I certainly am willing to dig as deep as I can.
Problem: In very specific circumstances, DQ will grind to a halt. I had instances with several seconds between frames. These situations occur when using a map with pack size +180 (I haven’t tried lower as I’m specifically trying to max that stat), with a “run and gun” style. Once a certain number of enemies and/or a certain amount of loot is on the dungeon floor, the game crawls to an unusable speed.
I have tried Low FX, and if there’s a difference between low and hi FX, I haven’t noticed (I’m not a videophile by any stretch). Low FX is my default, just because I see no appreciable difference with high FX.
I’ve tried killing off other tasks, but that didn’t seem to help either. I assume they just restarted in the background, gaining me nothing.
