Add or Multiply?

I’m playing a game app that the developers put a + or x depending on how you used the boost/bonus.

  1. +10% would be 50% + 10% = +60%.
  2. x50% would be 50% x 1.50% = +75%.

I read in an old post how Gives in a description is adding and Increases is multiplying. not all descriptions have either, so it’s kind of hard to figure out what to do, while others it’s either obvious or it’s been tested for years by players and game testers and everyone knows.

I think most boosts are multiplied and some are added, with a few it’s kind of hard to know which one to use.

DQ has the formula section of the dictionnary.

the formulas are for-

  1. BWD
  2. DPS
  3. Armor
  4. All Resist
  5. A Few others

what I’m looking for are for things like Wizard Focus. do you add or multiply the +2.5% per Rank Weapon Damage to Weapon Damage %? or Warrior Might, do you add or multiply +1.5% per Rank to Element %? adding or multiplying affects the formulas that are being used.

if I have +200% WD% on MH & +100% WD% on OH with Focus 20 (+50% WD%) does it mean I have (add) +250% WD% on MH & +150% on OH or (multiply) +300% WD% on MH & +150% on OH? Endow Mythstone used to be +50% WD% when on a Weapon, not x1.5.
