Ascendant Bonus: Gain +50% Elemental Weaken when you have at least 2 Ascendant Items equipped. (this is on the MH Ascendant Weapon)

Ascendant Set might be the best Set for Beginners in the Early Game.
although some affixes are different on Items from different Classes, Legend Explosive is on all 3 Classes, which gives any DMG done (except for Crushing Blow or Crushing Flames) a 5% chance to do +400% MH DMG exposion in an AoE.
now a look at Ascendant Set.
Increase All Resist by +12.5%: any All Resist you have is multiplied. All Resist is a Damage Reduction.
Increase Prismatic Effect by +12.5%: this is a chance for your attack to be a different Element.
Reduce enemies other resists by -12.5% with Arcane attacks (or Arcane effect). enemies resistant to any Elements take more DMG.
Ascendant Bonus +50% Elemental Weaken: a 50% chance to do Weaken DMG, which is calculated after Element resist/effective.
higher DMG Reduction from higher All Resist is good, but Characters have really low All Resist at lower levels, so this is more for mid and late game. if you put Hero Points into Intelligence, this will give you extra All Resist in the early game. floor 26 or higher the Protest Mythstone can drop and you get 250 All Resist when you put one in an empty Socket.
there are four Map Elements - Poison, Shock, Ice, and Fire. enemies on these Maps are resistant to their Maps Element; -50% Ice DMG on an Ice Map for example. with Prismatic Effect enemies can be damaged by all 5 Elements, with only one being resisted, three doing normal DMG, and the last one doing +25%; +25% Fire DMG on an Ice Map for example.
Arcane Effect: this reduces the resistance of enemies. with four Ascendant Items reducing enemy resistance by -50%, -50% Ice DMG on an Ice Map becomes -25% Ice DMG on an Ice Map. monsters have a chance to be equipped with a Greatly Resist Element affix, which reduces DMG from an Element by -75%. there is one for each Element, so it’s possible for an enemy to have -50% Ice DMG and -75% Ice DMG at the same time, or -50% Ice DMG and -75% Fire DMG. higher Tier monsters might have more than one Greatly Resist Element at the same time. this ability makes it worth using Arcane Element Weapons.
+50% Weaken: this is very powerful in the early game, especially with Arcane Effect reducing enemy resistances. this also allows you to do damage to enemies that are Immune to their Maps Element. a 50% chance to do +50% Weaken DMG.
lets use the Ice Weapon on an Ice Map as an example.
Arcane, Poison, and Shock Elements.
1 + 0.5 = 50% chance to do x1.5 DMG.
(1 x 0.625) + 0.5 = 50% chance to do x1.125 DMG against Greatly Resist Arcane, Poison, or Shock Element.
Fire Element
(1 x 1.25) + 0.5 = 50% chance to do x1.75 DMG.
(1 x 1.25 x 0.625) + 0.5 = 50% chance to do x1.28 DMG against Effective Fire and Greatly Resist Fire Element.
Ice Element
(1 x 0.75) + 0.5 = 50% chance to do x1.25 DMG.
(1 x 0.75 x 0.625) + 0.5 = 50% chance to do x0.96 DMG against Resist Ice and Greatly Resist Ice. you might think this really sucks, but if you didn’t have Ascendant Set and Elemental Weaken, it would look like this.
Ice Element
1 x 0.5 = x0.5 Resist Ice DMG.
1 x 0.5 x 0.25 = x0.125 Resist Ice and Greatly Resist Ice DMG. yeah, it sucks using an Element on the same Element Map.
you can put more Weaken on your Items, up to +200%, for a better chance to do Weaken up to 99% with 100 to 200 Weaken doing Weaken DMG on all DMG (except for Crushing Blow or Crushing Flames)
another nice thing with Ascendant with Ascendant Bonus is that, if an enemy is Immune to the Maps Element, it will still take damage from the other four Elements while Ice still has a 50% chance to do x0.5 Ice DMG from Weaken instead of 0 Ice DMG.
Fire does Fire DoT for Two seconds, doing 40% of Fire DMG every second.
Poison does Poison DoT for Eight seconds, doing 10% of Poison DMG every second.
Shock stacks Shock DoT’s that lasts Five seconds, each adding +12.5% DMG up to Four stacks for a total of +50% DMG.
Ice does Ice DoT that lasts Five seconds that reduces enemy movement and attack speed by -50% and reduces enemy DMG by -25%.
Arcane gets it’s DoT from the Ascendant Set.
if you put Orbit (Elemental Critical) on the Items, the attacks will do Element Critical Effects: Orbit, Freeze, Paralyze, Toxic, Immolate.
this build is good on attack, but a little weak on defense, so you will have to change some of the Epic affixes to more Armor, All Resist, HP, MP, HP & MP Regen. or maybe you go for more DMG, because a dead enemy can’t attack you.
