Talent:
Astral - For Every 100 All Resist, Increase ED% by +0.05%.
Astral 10 - +0.5%
Astral 20 - +1%
Astral 30 - +1.5%
Astral 40 - + 2%

for this to work, you first need ED% on the Build. at a minimum, one Element Nature for +5% ED% (+5% Fire DMG for example). it’s better to have more. starting with Legend +100% ED% is a good start, and more is better, depending on how much more ED% you are going for.

next you need All Resist. Intelligence 20 gives 1000 All Resist.

Astral 20 with 1000 All Resist and +100% Fire.

All Resist 1000/100 = 10
Astral 20 0.05% x 20 = 1%
10 x 1% = 10%
10% 0.1 + 1 = 1.1
Fire 100% x 1.1 = +110% Fire.
Fire 500% x 1.1 = +550% Fire.

+10% doesn’t look like much, and you’re correct. how about if you used six Crystal All Resist and six Protest Mythstones and one Epic All Resist on the Pet? with Cosmic Talent 40 and Intelligence 40, that’s 9250 All Resist!

9250/100 = 92.5
92.5 x 1% = 92.5%
1 + 0.925 = 1.925
1.925 x 100 = +192.5% Fire DMG
1.925 x 300 = +577.5% Fire DMG

92.5 x 2% = 185%
1 + 1.85 = 2.85
2.85 x 100 = +285% Fire DMG
2.85 x 300 = +855% Fire DMG

but what if you don’t want to use up all your Crystal affixes for this, can you still get high All Resist?

Ascendant Set: Increase All Resist & Prismatic Effect +12.5% per Rank. Reduce Enemy Resists -12.5% per Rank with Arcane Weapons. can be rolled with Amethyst Crystal on any Class’s Items.

Cerebral Vortex: Increases All Resist & MP by +25% per Rank. 5% per Rank chance to cast Torrent on enemies when hit. can not be rolled with Amethyst and is only found on 4 Wizard Items.

Faun’s Gifts: Increases All Resist and Total HP% by 12.5% of Luck on Gear. can be rolled with Amethyst Crystal on Warrior Items.

Spell Sword: Changes MH Skills to Comet & Meteor. Increases All Resist & Total MP by +20% per Rank. can be rolled with Amethyst on Warrior Items.

Guardian: While ShieldWall is up, Gain +5% Increase to All Resists and +5% Increased Arcane DMG. can not be rolled with Amethyst Crystal and can only be found on four Warrior Items.

another thing to take into consideration is that there are no Items with both +100% ED% and +10 Intelligence. both of these can not be rolled with Ruby.

the best way to go is to have 40 Ranks in both Cosmic & Astral with 20 points in Intelligence. this will start you with 2000 All Resist and +2% per 100 All Resist.

the rest depends on which Skills you want to use, one, two, or all 5 Elements for the build, how much All Resist you want, and how much ED% you want.

a bonus build idea is, if you are using Ascendant Set, add Arcanist Set. you have to also have +90% Weaken, but with Arcanist (5) you get +20% ED% for every enemy that has Arcane DoT on it. this gives you two separate multipliers for increases your ED%. Arcanist can be rolled with Amethyst on Wizard Items.

Cerebral Vortex Ring (5) - Cognition (only CV with ED%) and 4 other Items with ED% for +500% ED.
2000 All Resist
Ascendant (5) and Arcanist (5)

2000 x CV 2.25 x Asc. 1.625 = 7312.5 All Resist.
7312.5/100 = 73.125
73.125 x 2% = 146.25%
1 + 1.46 = ED% x 2.46
500 x 2.46 x Arcanist 1.2 (one enemy with Arcane DoT) = +1476% ED%. remember that it’s possible to have multiple enemies with Arcane DoT, imagine Teleporting across a Pack Size Map and placing Arcane DoT on 30+, 40+, 50+ enemies before reaching the Cartographer.

if you only hit 30 enemies, 500 x 2.46 x 7 = +8610% ED% against that hard to kill Cartographer. yeah, x87.1 after WD% & WD+ on the Weapon Damage Formula.

Arcane DoT lasts 5 seconds.

Which floor are we talking about, sir? Do you have a visual representation of this build? If so, could you share it? I confess I have more difficulty visualizing it, haha. Do you think it would do more damage than the one posted by our friend @ISuckAnything in the “Cheap build for climbing” post +4k floors? I ask because I’m farming that build to play around on higher floors in the future, haha. Ty, sir!

I haven’t started building, as I still need lots of Crystals. I’ve had the beginning’s of an idea for this type of build for a long time, and recently did some research to move forward a little.

the old version of Arcanist caused Arcane DoT on Critical Hits and increased Total DMG while the new version causes Arcane DoT on Weaken and increases ED%. the biggest difference is that it’s easy to get 100% Weaken while it wasn’t easy to get Crit Chance higher than +75%. this was usable by any Class, and players were able to get up to the Trillion and maybe Quadrillion DMG by having lots of monsters with Arcane DoT on them.

Astral Talent is only for Wizard, and it also boosts ED% like Arcanist does, but instead of needing lots of enemies for lots of DMG, it needs All Resist. @Mr_Scooty had a PVP build with 172k All Resist. if it was for PVE,

172,000/100 = 1720
1720 x Astrral 20 2% = +3440%
300% ED% x 35.4 = +10,620% ED%
200% ED% x 35.4 = +7080% ED% (with All Resist so high, I wasn’t sure if you had room for +200% or +300% ED% on a build)

here’s the difference in Weapon DMG between +500% ED% and +7080% ED% on a Gauntlet with +200% Weapon DMG and 100 Power Stat, and with & without +5000 WD+.

(15,820 x 1.25 x 3) x 6 = 341,712
((15,820 x 1.25 x 3) + 5000) x 6 = 385,950
this build will have lots of space to increase the DMG

(15,820 x 1.25 x 3) x 71.8 = 4,259,535
((15,820 x 1.25 x 3) + 5000) x 71.8 = 4,618,535
this build used lots of it’s space for a high Weapon DMG and will have less space for increasing the DMG higher. it would really depend on the Items used and which affixes they have.

I think he got an OH Skull with +200% WD%, but a small weakness in the build is that he has no ED%. the build as it is is crushing enemies, so it probably doesn’t need any other changes.

many years ago, I had a build with Crushing Flames, Ascendant & Arcanist, with Amplify Talent and +200% Frostbiting for any Ice DMG that caused Freeze and +40% DMG for each Element DoT on enemies. I want to do something similar, but with Astral added for even more ED% DMG. mostly because my play style didn’t get the most out of Arcanist Set, but with Astral it will work better with my play style.

The new build goes for faster movement speed and rushing floors and not clicking any but but the mp bottle

The aftermath is for clearing all parts of the dungeon due to its huge aoe

but add 20% fire damage tho to the new one and old one
