Damage numbers interfere with interface

I have noticed a few times that when there are damage numbers popping up where I want to tap, I have a hard time getting the tap to go through. This happens if I die and some remaining effect is still damaging in the same screen area as the resurrect button, as well as if I’m trying to open my inventory (hunter ring swap!) and my hireling is in that area of the screen damaging things.

I’d rather not turn off the damage numbers, as they’re the only way to see how much you’re doing!

Could they be moved to a lower layer, or just not capture the tap?
