I need help with Mana Shield stuff. Because it can reflect damage and somehow make my MP acts as my HP. I do wonder what good build or attributes can help me increase its usefulness, so I can just dive in the middle of enemies while not bothering to think me dying, I guess.
Welcome to DQ Forums @Sun !
Manashield doesn’t make your MP act like your HP. any damage to an activated Manashield takes MP from your Mana pool. if/when your MP reaches 0 or is deactivated, damage then takes HP from your Health pool.
Barrier Talent on Chest Items reduces the MP lost when the Manashield takes damage by -1.5% per Rank. with Barrier 20 (-30%), you lose 7 MP for every 10 damage your Manashield takes. Barrier 40 (-60%), you lose 4 MP for every 10 damage, as an example.
Infusion Talent on Head Items gives +10% per Rank of your All Resist for your Manashield. this gives your Manashield some Damage Reduction, which is calculated before Barrier. without a lot of All Resist, this Talent will be weak, and the Manashield will be weak also. floor level is part of the Armor & All Resist Damage Reduction calculations, which causes Manashield to be less effective on higher floors.
Continuity Talent on Ring Items slows enemy melee -2.5% per Rank when in Timewarps AoE. if you don’t use Timewarp, don’t worry about this.
Electrified Set - I don’t think it increases damage of Manashield, but it does cause any hit on the Manashield to do damage to all enemies in a 25 yard radius centered on the Wizard.
Redirect Mythic - I just tested this and it works with Manashield. not sure if it gives Manashield +100% Damage when enemy attacks are Dodged/Blocked, but it does work with Electrified Set with Manashield. having a high Dodge & Block are a must. this makes Manashield viable for higher floors, as you can still do damage with Manashield without getting hit.
MP on Hit, MP Regen, and MP Leach are very important for keeping your Manashield full of Mana.
Crit Chance & Crit Damage work with Manashield. so does Crushing Blow.
Elemental Crit doesn’t work with any kind of Reflect Damage.
Damage done by Manashield depends on the which enemy is attacking.
Melee monsters (like Slimes) do Arcane Damage.
Ranged monsters (like Adepts) do Map Damage (Poison Map = Poison Damage).
Ogres on any Map do both Ranged Arcane & Melee Arcane Damage.
Malum (worms) do Ranged Shock Damage.
Fury’s (fall from the sky) may be a random Element, doing that Elements Damage.
Epic, Legend, and Mythic monsters will do the Maps Element Damage.
putting Skill Points into Manashield improves it’s Reflected damage a lot and makes it last longer. Manashield does OH Damage when it Reflects damage from enemy attacks.
hope this helps.
Thank you
