Help with quality and talent rank

I started playing this game a few days ago and love it. Most things I’ve had questions about were easily searchable, but I’m stuck on these two.

First, what does quality do for an item?

Second, how can I see what my talent rank is? I run a spiritmancer build and for a while I had about ten minions, now I can only summon six, the guide suggests that it has to do with talent rank.

Quality affects a few things. Dps on weapons and AR on other stuff, but also affects rerolling stats when you use crystals.

As for the other part, you probably changed to an item that dropped your Legion talent. My wiz pet is at like 26, and he has a whole crap load of minions…
