I decided to finally make a serious Rogue Farm Hireling for my Wizard Farm Main, and it’s a learning experience. I’ve usually only done tests, so making a Hireling for long term is tougher than I thought.
so I’m using a Rogue Flintlock with lots of Talents and Extra Attack Chance +2, and it’s dying a lot. after some farming & thinking, I replaced the EAC with Multi Attack +4, and lucked out with Crystal +45% Crit Chance & +225% Crit DMG, so it’s doing a lot better. I think I need to tweak the A.I. a little more, but I’m liking the better treasure drops using a Main & Hireling Farm build. just need some more defense.
before I got a Gift Card, I only had one Character Slot. the only downside I had was, when I got an idea for a build for a different Class than I had, I would delete it and start over with the new Class.
and I didn’t just do that a few times, I did that 2-4 times a month for about a year. I think I might be the DQ Delete King!
now I have all 6 Character slots. I think the last time I used Delete was a few years ago when I went from 2 Wizards 2 Rogues 2 Warriors to 3 Wizards 2 Rogues 1 Warrior, because I have lots of ideas for Wizard & Rogue and only a few for Warrior.
with only 1 character, you can focus on one Class and be an expert with it, while someone like me is always switching between Characters and trying out new Main & Hireling combinations.
I have to admit, the biggest reason I don’t use Hirelings is because I still haven’t figured out a decent A.I. setting for any of them. because of this, they either die a lot or wander off, only coming back to help kill the last monster. really unreliable!
well, I’ve been Ascending a second Rogue and recently added my third Wizard as an Ascending Hireling. and I just noticed that the Hireling Wizard is WRECKING the monsters like Gandalf/Merlin/Elminster all rolled into one!
when I noticed that, I just let my Rogue stand there and stare while the Wizard activated it’s ManaShield and charged into battle casting Discordance Twisters everywhere with a few Discordance Comets for fun.
