Yes, it’s worth it, sets you back to level one, but you get 2x more exp so it’s faster to get max level. Recommended to get the fortunate perk first when you get buy it.
wrong! you don’t get 2x more experience. you need 2x more experience to get the second Perk.
Perk 1: 1x experience to Perk
Perk 2: 2x experience to Perk
Perk 3: 3x experience to Perk
Perk 4: 5x experience to Perk
Perk 5: 7x experience to Perk
Perk 6: 10x experience to Perk
Final: 14x experience to Level 99 for the last time
for example, if it’s 1 Billion experience to get the first Perk, it would be 5 Billion experience to get the fourth Perk. it actually takes longer to get more than one Perk.
go to the Codex > Dictionary > Perks… look them over and decide if you want/need them and then consider which order you want to get them if you want them. when you chose a Perk, you go back to level 1 and your Stats go back to 5 each while your Hero Experience stays the same (you don’t lose your Skill Points).
it’s up to you whether you get all 6 Perks or only the ones you want.

Edit: I just Ascended a Rogue and got the next Perk. it said I need x more experience for the next Perk.
to get more experience per kill, you need Legend +15% Experience or the Quest Mythstones which give +40% experience for 2 Items and +30% experience for 4 Items. the Cap is +200%. With Epiphany (5) the Cap is +250%, you would have all 6v Quest Stones and 4 Legend Experience.
just so you don’t go crazy, put the Legend Experience on the Items first and the Quest MS second. if you do it the other way, you wont be able to roll the Legend onto the same Item as the Quest MS. this is due to the game mechanic of not having 2 of the same affix on the same Item. the only way to have 2 of the same affix is to put the affix on first and the MS with the same affix second.
