Looking for a Lifesteal Bleed build

Hello! Looking for any recommendations for some sort of Aoe lifesteal bleed build.Tried using the Vampire set, it’s not really doing much unfortunately. I’d assume getting a wep with the Bloodmage affix is a good start.

Vampiric Touch Set - the Healing from that is for when you cause Bleed, not from Bleed DoT. if you have a 10% chance to cause Bleed, you have a 10% chance to get healed. Scalp Skill has a 100% chance to cause Bleed, so every time you hit an enemy you get a heal. the main benefit for using this Set is extra Bleed DMG. using a +250 HP on Hit or two should help a lot.

BloodMagic Mytthic & Set both work the same and don’t stack.
the benefit is that you do 200% of your missing HP% for damage.
the downside is that your Mana is merged into your Health, so using Skills lowers your Health. also the cost of Skills is doubled. if you do the Build wrong, you could lower your Health low enough that you can’t use Skills or have so much Healing that you barely do any extra damage. you can either do the testing to find the balance for doing lots of damage without healing too fast or losing Health too fast. the other option is to use Masochism Set. this will keep your Health averaged between 40% to 60% for an average damage increase of +80% to +120%.

I think I’ll go with the masochism set. Overlooked this set entirely because I got one piece and slapped it on randomly and was like “meh” very curious now to see what type of gameplay I can get out of it.

Masochism isn’t really worth it alone, but very worth it when using BloodMagic Mythic/Set and/or Defiant Set.

Oooh good to know thank you!

Masochism takes damage from heals when the Characters HP is over 50% and heals normally when under 50%, and does no extra damage when over 75% HP.

Defiant does +25% damage & damage reduction, with +5% per Rank more damage & damage reduction of your missing HP %. Defiant (5) with Masochism will average +37.5% damage & damage reduction.

BloodMagic gives 200% of your missing HP % damage while doubling skill cost and any MP is converted to HP. this makes Resource control very important and difficult at the same time. I’ve discovered that using MP Reduce on the weapon you use the most will lower the skill cost enough to make it easier to use with Masochism. with Masochism, BloodMagic will average +100% damage.

BloodMagic & Masochism are the better combo because of BM’s damage, while using all 3 will give a little better damage from damage spikes with Defiant added to the mix.

Thank you so much! Which item would you recommend I make into Bloodmagic?

all 6 of the Resource Mythics can go on any Item (you can only have 1 Mythic Resource on any Build). if you have other Mythic Affixes, then you put BloodMagic on an Item that doesn’t have one. also, remember that you have to take 4 affixes off of an Item to make BloodMagic, so take that into consideration. if you want to put BM on an item with 3 Legend+ affixes that you can’t replace or that are hard to replace, that could ruin your Build. so work it out in your head or write it on paper first before actually making it. Crystals are too precious to waste!

All great information and all very relevant for my builds since Scalp is my primary attack. :+1:

Let them bleed. :drop_of_blood:

do you use Living Force with Scalp? and for some reason, I want to see your build… does it do tons of Bleed Damage? Bleed has lot’s of boosts in DQ, what about that one Set Bonus that gives you 500% more Bleed? man, I’m starting to sound like a Bleed Build Geek! :nerd:

I don’t really have an actual “build” since I switch gear in and out very often.
There have definitely been some givens:

MH: Eternalized Lance
OH: whatever gives me Scalp
Chest: Aethereal Drain w/Exposed Mythic
Head: Crystalline w/Bloodmagic Mythic
Ring: Momentum w/Haunting Bonus
Amulet: Epiphany w/Ignore Resist

I have always uses Poison, but am trying out Fire with the acquisition of an Eternal Rage (Inferno Set) with great affixes.

My goal is to typically to achieve as high as possible of:

Crit chance/damage (Rage set helps and Sharpened works on Hatchet)
Reduced cooldown (a necessity w/Scalp)
Move speed (great w/Momentum and for farming)
At least some Elemental crit chance/damage (25% ECC from Aethereal Drain is all I need)
Luck/Item Find/Gold (my precious babies👶)

As the levels go up, I switch to using Deadly Strike and then Crushing Blow as I go even higher (not typically my thing). This usually means sacrificing my beloved farming affixes. :sob:

I have recently tried Crushing Flames and Vampiric Touch, and also switched out Plagued with Living Force. Positive results. :+1:

As you know, it’s a challenge. I have the crystals but not the available affix spaces for what I want to accomplish. :man_shrugging:

I thought about going for the CF bonus, but that forces me to equip 3. :unamused:

WOAH!!! does Sharpened really work with Hatchet? I was wondering about that, and haven’t really been motivated enough yet, to test, because Hatchet is kind of an Axe, and Sharpened boost the Crit DMG of Axes & Swords. that’s the main reason I’m using Horn instead of Hatchet on my Warrior (Sprint is my Warrior Teleport, lol), because I wasn’t sure one way or the other yet.

on the other hand, I like using Cleave on Axe with Berserker Talents with Sprint to get out of trouble fast, so it might be awhile before I do anything with Hatchet again.

great build by the way!

Yes, I have read in the forums that Sharpened doesn’t work with Hatchet, but I tried it out a while back and sure enough, the tiny axe performs! Chest has Sharpened talent and I can also put it on a pet. :+1:

I also love to use Taunt :carrot: with Explosive :firecracker:. High talent stats and Provocation is plenty, so it doesn’t take up affix space.

On another note, I am finding fire to be more difficult visually. The green poison :deciduous_tree: :skull_and_crossbones: provides better contrast against the fiery colors of enemies, thorns, etc. Especially with a busy pack size map, which I almost always use. :fire::face_with_spiral_eyes:

Fire Is great at doing single target damage with it’s 40% DoT, Immolate, and Blistering to cause tons of Bleed. especially if using Crushing Flames & CF Bonus to boost Immolate damage.

Poison is great at doing crowd damage with Toxic’s AoE damage, especially with Blight & Plagued

Poison has been my choice of elements for many years.

I am noticing many subtle differences with fire.

Let’s see what happens when impliment the Berserker Bonus for 500% Bleed Damage along with the Vampiric Touch. :fire::drop_of_blood: :scream:

in the early days, Bleed was one of the big damage ways for builds. one of my goals is to make a great Bleed Build.

Immolate looks like it was changed recently to affect Fire DoT directly instead of being a different DoT. this made Immolate do less damage while Blistering is now doing more damage. I think the change was made due to the damage boost Immolate gets with Crushing Flames Set & Bonus and the Legend Immolate affixes on the CF Items. makes it more comparable to the damage done by Poison with Blight & Plagued, and Druidic if you use that too.

I didn’t care much for Druidic. It used too many affixes to get high HP & MP regen.

Plagued :skull_and_crossbones: was on every build. :+1:

I don’t know the mechanics like you do, but the fire :fire: counterpart to Plagued (Inferno :fire: ) seems inferior. That in addition to the HP increase with Plagued :skull_and_crossbones: .

Inferno is the counterpart to Permafrost Set. also, Inferno Set replaced BloodMagic Set on Items. that’s why some of the affixes on Inferno don’t look right, they were originally for BloodMagic.

I agree about Druidic. Plagued should be on every Poison Build while Druidic is an add on for a few very focused Poison Builds. at least that’s how I see it.

Frozen/Permafrost Set combo for Ice, Electrification Set for Shock, Plagued for Poison, Crushing Flames for Fire, and Ascendant/Arcanist Set combo for Arcane are the top for the Element Builds.

I feel like I need to learn all over again simply by changing elements.

What incredible depth this game has. :+1:

Builds built on single Elements
on Sets combos
on DPS
on Damage
on Procs
on two Elements
on Prismatic or Ascendant Element Builds
on Main & Hireling combos
on Skill combos
on Talents
on Elemental Critical & Critical Damage
and so much more!

after my noob days, I stopped using Shock because I considered it a Beginner Element. after 4 hits in less than 5 seconds, you get +50% damage from the Shock DoT. I still like Shock when using Prismatic or Ascendant for the damage, but I’m still working on getting better with the other 4 elements. and the other big reason I don’t like using Shock is that Malum Worms are immune to Paralyze & Stun, but Ice Freeze works great on them, especially when using Frostbitten affix.
