Question About Gambling

When you buy an item from the merchant (specifically Legendary items), how does it determine which legendary you get?

  1. Does it treat it as a Legendary [Item Type] from the floor you’re on when you purchase it? IE if you’re on Floor 50 when you buy a Legendary Ring, it isn’t possible to get Cataclysm but if you bought a Legendary Ring on Floor 450, Cataclysm would be possible? Does this also apply to Legendary items locked to a specific floor type (such as Plagued set from Forest, etc)?

  2. Do all items of the correct type have a chance to drop? Referencing Cataclysm above (or Nadroji jewelry) can they be gambled? Is the chance to get a Nadroji ring the same extraordinarily low chance as it is when dropped, or are all ring Legendary items equally likely?

  3. Can a gambled Legendary get a “Crystal Affix”? If so, is it at the same rate as standard dropped legendary items?

Anyone know the answers to any of these? Or Steiger with the official word? (If not no worries, just a single bump in case folks missed the thread)

IMHO

  1. It seems that the likeliness of you getting a legendary item thru buying is influenced by your floor indeed (it is still a possibility tho). e.g. when I saw legend shield on item vendor when I was in lava floor, I guessed it would be a shield of thorn (blood magic shield) and I guessed just about right. so there would be a very small (if not zero) chance of getting Rime (permafrost shield) when buying legend on lava floor.
    CMIIW.

  2. I think the chance is equal to drop chance. means u are least likely to get nadrojis on item vendor. I once bought an amulet on vendor, and id’ed it, it is nadroji! but since I also have another amulet on my bag already, I wasn’t really sure if it is an amulet I bought.

  3. if number 1 and 2 are right, then there is a possibility of getting crystal affix.

P.S. : I dunno why, but Fate Travesties are dropped like crazy, Today I got about 10 Fate Travesties in total.

When placing items in the store, the system decides which item types to display based on which legends are available. It then determines the legend when you purchase by randomly selecting one of the possible Legends of that type.

Yep! Yup! Nope, elemental legends were cut out.

Yup, assuming you met the basic requirements to find the item. The Nadrojis don’t drop since they are on a special loot table

Ô.ô

Echoing Harahell…

Without giving TOO much away, care to give us even a hint (or many hints!) about what kinds/locations of monsters can roll from this special loot table?

That’s completly random mate!

Ah, so literally any monster/chest in any level can drop a Nadroji but it’s on a special loot table solely to prevent it from being gambled? (If so, not complaining - that makes sense - just making sure my understanding is correct!)
