Hi y’all, after a 3 year hiatus I’m back on this wonderful game and I just started a wizard character so I was wondering what would be a good stock build for climbing, by which i mean using legend items as they are without adding affixes with crystals beyond, like, citrine, cuz I don’t have the good ones to spare.
An aftermath discordance crushing flames build maybe. You might need to add some attack speed and Meteor skill points, also you’ll need +4 all sets.
If you don’t have +4 all sets, first farm floor 101 to get the Nadroji items. Hunter mythic, high luck/item quantity and good damage recommended.
for the Ring & Necklace, keep an eye out for Nadroji’s because of the +2 All Sets each one has.
for the other four, just look through the LegendEx for Legends that fall on lower floors or that you can afford to buy with Dust, and choose the ones that can help you right away.
as you climb floors, you will get more Crystals and can change affixes one at a time until your ‘Stock Items Build’ is better than how it started.
eventually you can start Crafting different Items for a Build that is more towards your play style… this is what I did when I Ascended for Perks as a Noob.
the thing is, when I WAS a Noob, no matter how good an Item was, when I learned more about which affixes I liked on my Items, I was always making changes.

Right then, thank you very much! Also, how does one farm crystals? Is there a good "stock set"for a wizard to start farming? The item tinkering in this game is very fun but kinda expensive
if you look at the Crystals & Mythstones, they have a number on them. that is the lowest floor that they will drop.
at floor 100, Calcite & Hero stops dropping while chances for all the others improve a little bit. this happens at every 100 floors until floor 500 where the 5 lowest Tier Crystrals & Mythstones stop dropping and the rest have a little better chance to drop.
the higher the Tier of the Crystal or Mythstone, the lower the chances are for a drop. Luck improves the chances for drops. Crystalline Set improves Crystal drops while Mythical Set improves the drops for Mythstones.
Higher Tier Monsters have better drop rates than lower Tier monsters.
Item Drop can affect the number of Crystals & Mythstones dropping.
with Gold, you can merge 2 Crystals or Mythstones to the next higher: 2 Calcite to get 1 Angelite for example. you can also convert 1 to the next lower: 1 Angelite to 1 Calcite.
Items have an option to be converted to a Crystal. Epic+ Items are the only ones guarantied to get a Crystal. this also costs Gold.
you can spend Gold in the Shop to try to get random Common, Rare, or Ultra Rare Crystals, and sometimes Mythstones.
and yes, when Farming isn’t fast enough, converting Crystals to get the ones you want can get really expensive.
