Welcome to DQ Forums @Toothpaste !
sucks about losing your account, but at least you are able to start over, and know more now than when you first played DQ.
I personally don’t like using Whirlwind, but I like using Cleave on Axe. the other thing I really like using Axe with Cleave is that it works great with Berserker Talents and Bleed.
if you are focusing on using Whirlwind, those who like using it like how you can do DMG while moving around.
I also used whirlwind as my main dmg on my old account aswell. But as far as i can remember i didn’t really have a build, i just used what was better than my current items. So now i wanna know a build for whirlwind or something much better for climbing up floors

for Whirlwind. a lot of players use it, and not just Warriors. I don’t use it mostly because it doesn’t fit my play style.
older builds (before Patch 3.0) may be out of date but have good basic ideas. check them out first and see if there is anything that will help you with the build you have in your head.
one thing to remember, Whirlwind is a melee range skill, and I think when you put skill points into it, you get more DMG & Hit Frequency for better DPS and more Movement Speed & Spell Size, so your build should be around maximizing Whirlwinds potential with any other affixes and/or Talents/Skills.
I couldn’t find any whirlwind builds with axe, its mostly hammers![]()
ahh, that’s because Hammer has best DMG of Warrior Weapons.
I just did a quick calculation, and Hammer does better Crit DMG with Brutal Mythic than Axe with Brutal Mythic and Sharpened 40 Talent. it comes down to if you are ever going to use Smash or Cleave. Smash has a Taunt ability, so you can Taunt enemies in front of you and then hit them with Whirlwind, or hit them with Cleave to cause Bleed and then hit them with Whirlwind. using Totem with Taunt to take the place of Smash, and other Berserker Talents, it looks like you could do comparable DMG, and maybe better DPS, than with Hammer. it all depends on the build if you are going with Hammer or Axe.
I would look at Set affixes and Talent combinations to see which is better, but if you really want to use Axe, then look at the Hammer builds for inspiration, and look at other stuff that would benefit Axe instead of Hammer. Brutal is Good for Hammer, but if you add Bleed to enemies when using Axe, Ruptured Mythic would be better, lower Crit DMG but better DPS against Bleeding enemies.
I actually like Hammers a lot, but not too long ago, I did some testing with Axe and I really like Cleave/Earthshatter combo (Earthshatter has a Crit DMG boost on top of using Sharpened, so I went in that direction).
