Returning player: build help!

I have noticed that when I roll a New Ruby on an item, and the item has 25%+ quality, and level 100, it more often than not roll max value as it is. But if that doesn’t happen in theory you could kyanite and Ruby until you get the legend you want maxed.

it’s hard that way, but makes it easier when you have 2 or more Legends, and 1 or 2 of them can’t be rolled with Ruby.

It uses lots of Ruby’s, but that’s what farming is for…

So you can let’s say add 3 legends, on an item, and then add and remove the last one until you get what you want, roll it for max and remove the excess legends. To like increase the odds of getting the one you want?

yeah, you could do that… that’s the same trick used with Epic affixes. for something like that, you might want to start with 20+ Ruby’s, that way you have enough for the ones you don’t want and to then get the one you do want.

I’ve had times I’ve gotten the Legend affix I want on the first Ruby and other times I’ve rolled 25+ Ruby’s. some times, when I get a Legend affix I don’t want, but it looks interesting, sometimes I’ll use it on the build for awhile to see how it works. sometimes I don’t have a choice, as I used the last Ruby and it’s not the one I want, so I have to use it anyways until I get more Ruby’s.

The best course of action is to get out there and start farming.

Beautiful and valuable crystals await your discovery.

Been a little busy the past couple days but I am going to do a real good grind session either tomorrow after I get home or the day after.

Since it’s a single player game I don’t feel the need to play everyday. And I’d rather play every few days or so, so that I don’t get burnt out doing nothing but farming.

What is best when looking for pure sustain of blood magic? Do I want the mythstone leech? Or is the affix ‘X HP + on hit’ stronger? I just want to make sure I heal enough to offset resource cost of course but also thorns. Since if thorns lower me too much I can’t attack anymore. And I’ll just die.

I’ve been doing nothing but farming for 8 years straight. :joy:

If it were possible to gift you some crystals, I would do it.

from what I see , X HP on Hit doesn’t have a cap. plus it’s effectiveness depends on the skill you are using. same for MS +2% Base HP Leach.

Epic +250 HP/MP on Hit
Crystal +500 HP/MP on Hit

+2% Base HP/MP Leach is based on HP/MP from your Character Level and Stat Points in Health & Mana. Stat Point depend on where you place them: 150 Health, 150 Mana, 75 Power (DMG). every Character Level is 50 each for Health & Mana.

Level 99 Character with Bloodmagic and 8 HP/MP & 5 MP/HP will have (the other Stat Points are for 100 Power)…
(8 x HP) + (5 x MP) + (99 x (HP + MP))
(8 x 150) + (5 x 150) + (99 x (50 + 50))
1240 + 750 + (99 x 100)
1990 + 9900 =
11,800 Base Health

11,800 x 0.02 =
236 HP Leach.

if you lower your Power enough to raise your Health or Mana so that your Leach is more than on Hit, or one of each or 2 of one or the other.

and I feel your pain. when I first encountered Thorns while using Bloodmagic I was really frustrated. I think the amount of Regen, on Hit, and Leach will be different for the Skill being used, because Attack Per Second, Attack Frequency, Cooldown, and number of Hits make an impact on returning HP/MP either slower or faster than they are being spent.

also, MP Reduce lowers the Skill cost before being doubled by Bloodmagic for the weapon it is on.

So, I think I have roughly 30-40k max health? But it seems like 2-3 affixes for health on hit would be more effective overall? Especially since I can get it on a pet and save damage slots on items.

I was grinding, very poorly, almost every day in high school for the 3 years. For several hours. Then once high school got more rough near the end of the third year I quit, and only recently came back to the game.

I like the game a lot. I just can’t sit for 10+ hours every day and just grind. And since I can’t work that is on the low end of the amount of free time I could spend on the game. It just gets too much. So instead I read a lot, play other games, and every so often I login for an entire night and run maps. Sometimes several days in a row.

in the Beta test days, the Leach Mythstones Healed a % of total HP/MP and were later changed to be based on the Base HP/MP for balancing, which is HP/MP from Stat Points and from Leveling up. so those with low enough Health & Mana would do better with HP/MP on Hit while those with high enough Health & Mana Stat Points would do better with the Mythstones.

Ahh makes sense. Although I do think it’d be better if it just did % max health leash.
