Fast answer. The story is strange. I was playing old pokemon game and I named my charachter “TheDude” because i could use only 7 letters, but I found it bad. Then, my brother started learning japanese and he told me that dono was the japanese “equivalent” of dude, so I merged dude and dono so DuDono

:blush: I read manga and watch some anime. Dono is an honorific that goes after a name, like Golem-dono, or Golem-san. an English equivalent would be Mister Golem or Sir Golem. dono would be used after the name of a Lord or Master, or someone you greatly respect or your boss’s boss.

I guess most players would be Player-san, most Mod’s would be Mod-dono, and Dev’s would be Dev-sensei. these honorifics change depending on which way the relationship goes; up, down, or sideways. family, work, friends, school, strangers, financial/social status, close or casual.

as an American on the outside of Japanese culture & language, I might be off by a bit, but I hope I did well enough.
