Read the Codex. if you don’t know what cool stuff to farm for, you wont make a farm build to get it.
New Players are stuck with low tier Crystals & Myth Stones, and random items. the 2 most important Crystals for New Players is Angelite: give 1 random Normal (Yellow) or Epic (Orange) affix, and Kyanite (remove one affix of your choice. works on Normal, Epic, Legend, and Set affixes). Calcite is good for changing your items Elements when needed, but with Angelite & Kyanite, you can make a set of…
there are four basic Builds.
Farm Builds for farming Loot. Luck and Gold Find are a must. Item Drop is important if you want lots more Loot to drop. other Farm Affixes are for Farm Builds that are focused on farming for certain kinds of Loot. of course, killing monsters and surviving is important also! usually only needs to survive up to floor 500, 1000 if you really need an item from these floors.

first read these 2 Posts. this way you will understand how to use ED% & ED+.
BWD, Power, Item Quality, WD%, & WD+ must be figured out before you use ED% & ED+. I am going to use the Warrior Sword from the Which Is Better: WD% or WD+ Post as part of the example.

(BWD + 5 Power) 3495 + 5000 ED = 8495. +25,000 ED = 28,495. this takes up 5 spaces.
with or without Item Quality, ED% & ED+ a…

Crit Chance: the Cap for Crit Chance is +60%. so you can improve your Crit Chance to be 6 out of 10 hits to be a Crit, on average.
Crit DMG: the Cap for Crit DMG is +350%. the +50% you start with is not counted towards the Cap, but is added to the total. so your max Crit DMG would be +400%.
Deadly Strike: gives you a chance to doubl…
this is a lot of information, but it should help you to make thoughtful choices on improving your Wizard.
this information will also be helpful for when you start making more complicated improvements that do more damage/damage per second, and die a lot less.
