Ive been reading posts in this forum and I found out that some players talk about Dungeon Quest 2…IS IT REAL?..Has it already been released?

Community "support" for Dungeon Quest 2

Dq2 is a thing but requires a significant amount of networking support to function. We are currently in beta testing for our next game wich is a hybrid title that supports real time multi-player. We were interested by the concept of a few other fantasy generas so we mashed then up and so far have really enjoyed the end product. This game will also allow us to cut our teeth on more extensive multi-player requirements as well. I think* there is a post on the forum for joining the beta as well…

An update on new things from Shiny Box

Anyone remembered the prenerfed Guideshot? Can we have a set affix for that?

We like that idea too, but it isn’t as straight forward when developing a title. If you are going to make an online game all of your systems need to be desinged to live in an online environment. So we essentially would be making the game 2 times (not that drastic…but not a trivial amount of work). I would imagine that those features would come after an initial release. I have a similar feeling. In my mind we would want to make the follow up title to have all the things people liked about the …

That is a fair criticism @Law We have not been doing a great job of updating DQ1. We hope everyone will like what we have been working on for our follow up game and we hope that wait for the players is worth it. It is hard from a developer side (not making excuses/not trying to sound “whiny” here) to know when to show/talk about a new game when that game does not look how you want the final game to look. While we can say “we are working on DQ2” we really don’t have anything we could show to ba…

We have already done some closed testing with a very small group of players. Our first test have been focused on getting stable/solid multiplayer connections. We have luckly been able to work with a group of players that are located all over the world and the test results have been promising! We have to balance the cost of running a multiplayer game (servers are expensive) against the quality of the multiplayer connections (poor/laggy connections and no one will want to play the game).

'Mini' rant

no offense taken at all! I just wanted to pay you the same respect you paid us and give you a thought out response instead of a “high five” or “thanks!!”. If there is one thing we learned from DQ1 more than anything else its to “plan for the future” when we are working on DQ2. We do not want to put our next game in the same position as DQ1 where we are dependent on another company to support some piece of tech so we can continue to update our game for our players! Cheers!
